Emirates Post plans the introduction of a postal code system in the United Arab Emirates by the end of 2009. Up to now, the national postal system only provides P.O. Box numbers for individuals or companies.

Kosovo has declared its independence from Serbia. AddressDoctor will list Kosovo as the 247th country when an ISO-code is assigned to this country. Postal code data for Kosovo, created by the UN Interim Administration, are already available to the public.

Correos de Costa Rica intends to implement a standardized system of addresses. According to Los Angeles Times, the postal service is assigning numbers, street names and postal codes to every home and building in the country, which measures about 20,000 square miles. A descriptive form of addressing is currently used by most senders in Costa Rica, geared to Points of Interests like Churches, Schools – or quite recently better known locations like "Pizza Hut" (see AddressDoctor News from August 20, 2007).
