Functionality and Structure of the DQC

The following pages describe and explain the use of the AddressDoctor Data Quality Center.

To clean your exported addresses, create a service job in the Data Quality Center (DQC). To do this, open the DQC from the AddressDoctor website. If you haven't registered for the DQC yet, register now to obtain 250 test transactions for free.

You should noew see a similar screen:

To create a new service job, select in the "Manage Jobs" menu the option "Create new service job".

For the first step, enter some basic information about your service job:
Assign a discretionary description, which helps you identify your service job.
Next, enter your e-mail address. The confirmation e-mail and "Free Data Audit" will be sent to this address.

With the "back" and "next" buttons on the bottom of every page you can get to the previous or next page, and confirm or correct information as necessary. Also you can jump directly to any step using the progress indicator on the right.

This step will allow you to specify the file you want to upload for processing.
Optionally, you may enter a description of the file content, which might help you classify the service job later.

Next, you can define the exact structure of the uploaded file, to allow for import into the DQC.

Through the preview at the bottom of the page you can determine how your settings affect the data and whether your settings are correct.

Here, you can configure more settings, like the treatment of diacritics or casing. If you are uncertain about these, we recommend you keep the default settings.
On the lower part of the page you have the option to select data enrichments, if necessary.

Here, you can specify which address element each of your imported fields contains. Using the drop-down menu on the right, you can assign element types to your field names.

If you haven't imported a column with country names we recommend assigning a default country.

If you have chosen to identify duplicates in step 4, you may now specify more detailed settings. Otherwise, this step is skipped and the summary is immediately displayed.

Here, the final summary of your service job is displayed. If you need to change information from a previous step, you can return to this step with one click in the progress indicator. Click "Finish" to complete your service job.

You will now receive an e-mail with a hyperlink. Open this hyperlink to approve your service job for processing. At this point, there is still no charge incurred by this service job.

In this e-mail, you will also find a summary of your service job, as well as a sample validation of randomly picked records for your review.

After the processing of your service job is finished, you will receive another e-mail: the free data quality audit.
In this e-mail, you will find a hyperlink, through which you may download the processed result file. There is no charge until you download this file.

To control the processing in advance, you will find the overall result and the statistics of your service job in this e-mail. Also, explanations of output fields and status codes which will help you interpret the processing output are provided.
