"Intelligent" address directory within 8 hours
How can Europe’s leading web organizer offer its customers even more convenience and security in address management? Which additional functions help to recruit new professional user groups and enhance customer databases? Joachim von Ahn, CEO of daybyday Media, chose AddressDoctor. AddressDoctor is a Web Service of Platon Data Technology, located in Maxdorf, Germany. In cooperating with Platon, daybyday improves its service for freelancers, small companies, and sales organisations: In contrast to many complicated and expensive CRM systems, daybyday provides data management with extensive validation and cleansing functions of addresses in one go. "Stored once, the quality of addresses is guaranteed and addresses can be used for mailing or marketing activities right away without any reservations," says Joachim von Ahn. The daybyday address validation is possible in either a batch or in an interactive mode. In batch mode all existing addresses are checked and corrected on request. The interactive mode supports the data entry process. To make the capturing of addresses even easier, an auto complete service helps to generate sensible data from fragmentary street and place names or incomplete combinations of different elements. "The implementation the AddressDoctor Web Services was very easy,” von Ahn praises the good cooperation with the team from Maxdorf. "It only took a few days to integrate the service with the right front end design and to integrate it into our own billing system. The actual link to the AddressDoctor system was even completed in less than a day." daybyday users are buying online credits to validate and complete their addresses. One processed address corresponds to one credit. Credits are available in different packages. AddressDoctor supports the billing systems of its customers by providing them with an individual customer number, departmental IDs, campaign IDs and many other useful billing services. AddressDoctor expects that data quality will becomes more popular by integrating with daybyday. "It is our goal to ensure the availability of correct addresses as simply as possible," explains Sven Schreiber, founder and managing director of AddressDoctor. "Private users also profit from this service, because they would rather concentrate on the contents of their mail than look for the right postal code." Sven Schreiber has made provisions to guarantee that the AddressDoctor Web Service, which is already used by more than 500 business customers and more than 30,000 users, can manage the continuously increasing number of requests: "We just implemented a new server cluster that guarantees a time scale of at least 24 months maintaining consistently high growth." Thus the high system availability, which has surpassed 99.9% in previous years, and very short response times within milliseconds can be maintained. The server cluster is based on Windows 2003 and guarantees a high availability with the help of the integrated load balancing. "We designed all systems doubled to avoid breakdowns," Schreiber goes on. Additionally, a back-up location guarantees availability even in emergency scenarios. The clustering also ensures the ability of processing very large data files. Even in the first version of the service, 1 million addresses can be processed within an hour. And there is no limit, because further extensions can be applied. "The flexible architecture makes it easy to increase the capacity," Schreiber explains. The Web Service was designed for an easy integration. Only 20 lines programming code are enough to respond to the service. So results can be achieved very quickly. "The support of SSL makes the transmission very secure," an employee of Platon explains. Misuse is virtually impossible, because no data is stored to the AddressDoctor system. The AddressDoctor system is designed for a further integration of additional services.
