Postal certifications are an absolute necessity if you plan to post bulk mail at discounted rates within specific countries, like the USA, Canada or Australia. Customers like direct marketing agencies or online shops benefit from accurate addresses which culminates in more efficient and timely mail delivery.
Some postal organizations, like the USPS, Canada or Australia Post offer an official certification process for address validation software. AddressDoctor's Software Library has achieved their stringent address data cleansing and validation criteria and received the following certifications:
CASS is a registered trademark of United States Postal Service.
The USPS offers an official certification process (CASS) for address validation software. Certification is an absolute necessity if you plan to post bulk mail at discounted rates within the US.
AddressDoctor's software library has achieved CASS certification requirements defined by USPS for Cycle N including SuiteLink . The complex USPS requirements for DPV (Delivery Point Validation), LACSLink (Locatable Address Conversion System) and SuiteLink were mastered successfully. All are necessary to achieve certification for the current CASS certification Cycle N.
The USPS states that DPV, LACSLink and SuiteLink data must remain within the US. Consequentially, address cleaning software using DPV, LACSLink and SuiteLink data is not allowed to circulate outside of the US.
Software vendors located in the US can integrate the AddressDoctor CASS certifiable components into their software and have their product certified by the USPS. Customers outside the US can still use AddressDoctor libraries with the US reference database without DPV, LACSLink and SuiteLink data. ZIP+4 codes will then be assigned based on the previous logic.

Since March 2011, AddressDoctor’s Software Library is officially certified by Australia Post's Address Matching Approval System (AMAS®), which is used to measure the accuracy of address matching software. Mailers using certified address validation software benefit from increased cost savings and volume postage discounts.
The certified software ensures the completeness, consistency and validity of over 12 million delivery points in Australia. As an official AMAS approved supplier, AddressDoctor has developed a software library that corrects and matches addresses against the Australia Post Postal Address File (PAF).The software is able to add a unique 8-digit number to each mail piece, known as the Delivery Point Identifier (DPID) to each address ensuring cost effective and timely mail delivery. Additionally, customers can take advantage of Australia Post's PreSort Letters service which offers discounted postage rates for customers mailing more than 300 machine-addressed items that are barcoded and sorted.
To achieve the AMAS certification the DPID quote of the address validation software must be at least 99.6%. AddressDoctor achieved an address accuracy quote of 99.97%.
With Canada Post certification in March 2010, AddressDoctor has continued to enhance its software library. It is able to validate addresses from over 240 countries and territories. Customers like direct marketing agencies or online shops benefit from accurate addresses which culminates in more efficient and timely mail delivery.
The Software Evaluation and Recognition Program (SERP) requires validation software to properly categorize addresses as valid or invalid in 99% of the cases. Address Correction software must accurately correct at least 90% of 'correctable' records with 99% accuracy, and must reject at least 99% of 'non-correctable' records without attempting correction. Meeting all these address data cleansing and validation criteria, AddressDoctor's certified Software Library allows customers to:
More detailed Point of Call address data from Canada Post delivers improved accuracy.
Postal organizations in France and New Zealand have also developed programs for the certification of address validation software. AddressDoctor is considering to apply for their postal certifications, too.
