AddressDoctor GmbH, located in Maxdorf, Germany, is one of the world leaders for global address data quality. Customers and integrators around the world trust AddressDoctors software and abilities. Since its inception the company has grown continuously. It is completely owned by the managing director Sven Schreiber. Prior to 2007 the company was doing business as Platon Data Technology GmbH.

AddressDoctor’s history has always been marked by innovation and stability. Since the foundation in the year 1991 it has taken almost five years to build the solid base for today's product line. An extensive collection of postal reference data - with street and locality listings from more than 230 countries. In 1996 this work led to a pioneer achievement: Platon developed "Postleitzahlen im Internet", the first postal code search engine, for the website of the Deutsche Post AG. The successful development of this project led to the signing of a cooperation and sales contract with Deutsche Post Global Mail GmbH, who until today offer AddressDoctor software and services to their customers in many countries of the world. In 1999 Platon extended its product line with the "Weltpostleitzahlen-Verzeichnis", a joint venture with the Weltpostverein. Also in 1999 the first web service for postal validation went online: AddressDoctor eCommerce. Platon has received several honors for this technical achievement, among others from the British Direct Marketing Association "DMA UK".

In the years from 2001 to 2003 the product line was completely modernized. The new version 4.0, which is available since January 2004, not only covers all countries and territories of the world. It also offers automatic transliteration from 40 international character sets, parsing and standardization. With more than 2 million addresses per hour and CPU processing speed is extremely high. Of course it is available for all major operating systems.
